Bhakti and Lakshay both grew up in Dubai, a country with a large Indian diaspora. As destiny would have it, these two bumped into each other and a romance soon followed. Rest as they say, is history. The decided to host their destination wedding at Sri Lanka as they loved the tropical laid-back vibe of the country when they had visited it together in the past.

Their wedding was a leisurely, unhurried affair and the couple had a lovely time with their friends and family. The celebrations started with the Mehndi which was a vibrant, pool-side event. Bhakti made an entry with her cute niece in tow wearing coordinated outfits. Lakshay arrived with an entourage of bongo players while himself playing a bongo. The event eventually turned into a pool-party as the guests needed some respite from the tropical heat of Sri Lanka. Everyone had a blast and we had an amazing time capturing the fun.

The Sangeet was a dazzling affair that started with a ring ceremony and dance performances and turned into a party that went on till the wee hours of the night. The wedding rituals were held under a lush foliage mandap, which was set-up in the lawn next to the lagoon. Lakshay arrived riding a cycle rickshaw surrounded by his baraatis and the gorgeous bride entered with a tropical phoolon-ki-chaddar held by her brothers. The couple tied the knot under the stars with traditional Sindhi rituals. The celebrations closed with a classy black-tie Reception which turned into an impromptu karaoke and DJ night. Overall the couple had a brilliant time at their own wedding and so did we!
