Anjali and Nimit met at work and were both amazed at their instant chemistry with each other. They soon started dating and when Nimit proposed, Anjali naturally said a yes. This Dubai based couple wanted to host a destination wedding in India as they wanted to include their extended families based in India in the wedding festivities. The wedding date was set for April but despite the hot Indian summers, Anjali had her heart set on an outdoor destination wedding. Keeping in summers in mind, she chose the cool mountains of Mahabaleshwar as the destination for their wedding.
Their events kicked off with an intimate Mehndi for the bride and a dudh-pilani for the groom. At the end of the day, it turned into a cozy celebration with their close friends and family. The bulk of wedding guests arrived the following day and the couple welcomed them with a poolside brunch. All the main events at this wedding were scheduled at outdoor venues but as luck would have it, it started raining unseasonably in April. The Sangeet had to be shifted to an indoor venue at the last minute. The couple were initially disappointed but had a great time once the event got underway and guests started having fun.
The wedding ceremony was also set to take place outdoors. Nimits baraat started. So far the weather was pleasant and the baraatis had a gala time dancing without a break and everyone was in a celebratory mood. Anjali was about to make her entry when it started raining (again!) and wouldn’t stop. To the chagrin of the couple, the ceremony again had to be moved indoors. The unseasonal showers on both days had dampened the bride’s dream wedding. But when Anjali entered the hurriedly set-up mandap and locked eyes with Nimit, all her disappointments seem to vanish. She was all smiles and all that seemed to matter was that they were together.
The wrath of the rain-Gods and all the last minute chaos also kept us on our toes. It was a challenging event in parts as we had to work with very little light and hastily put together decor but we pulled through and in the process also had a great time working with this lovely couple.
